Q. Can James Andrews design/sketch Jewellery?
Yes James is highly skilled at sketching to specifications and in determining if the design will be successful. From Engagement Rings, to Wedding Rings, Anniversary, Birthdays, or Special Occasions in general.
Q. Does James make custom Jewellery in his workshop?
Yes on our premises. A medium sized workshop with all relevant tools and equipment that a Master Jeweller requires to make that extraordinary piece of Jewellery.
Q. Does James consult on your Jewellery?
Yes James will always make time to go through everything to do with Jewellery, Natural Diamonds, Natural Gemstones & Precious Metals.
Q. Do I need to make an appointment?
For the most part yes.
Q. Do I pay more for a Diamond with GIA Certificate?
At James Andrews we are very competitive when it comes to Diamond sales. GIA is the foremost recognised Diamond grading laboratories in the world. There may be a slight premium, however compared to other laboratories where grades do not match their diamonds, you will find GIA graded diamonds are a much more assured way of purchasing what you pay for.
Q. Are your Diamonds Conflict Free Diamonds?
Yes, our Diamonds are ethically sourced. We work with leading Diamond manufacturers & diamond merchants who provide written assurances stating they are conflict free.
Q. Can I bring in my own Diamond?
Certainly we are more than happy to work with your existing Diamonds and materials. However we do not work with Synthetic or Lab Grown stones.
Q. What is the turnaround time for a handcrafted Engagement Ring?
Once a Diamond or Gemstone is selected and design is confirmed it will take anywhere from two days, depending on complicity & schedule.
Q. Do we provide Valuations?
Yes we provide Valuations to all of his own makes. However in some cases where Jewellery is from elsewhere, a Certified Valuer must assess these items. An example would be inherited Jewellery.
Q. How can I really take care of my Jewellery?
Like any valuable asset maintenance is the key. We would strongly advise taking care when doing any activities that may compromise or potentially damage your jewellery. Including gym, gardening etc. We recommend you remove the jewellery especially rings, store them safely. Regular check-ups at a minimum of 5 years.
Q. Can you advise me on Insurance?
Yes we can however it is up to the person to speak to their insurer so they get the right advice specific to their needs.
